Christina Del Greco, Ph.D.

I am a recent Ph.D. graduate and a current Governor’s Science and Technology Fellow in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I completed my Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics from the University of Michigan where I studied ultra-rare diseases associated with defects in mitochondrial protein synthesis. I am broadly interested in the intersection between biomedical science, policy, and communication.

I am a 4th-year student at the University of California, Berkeley. I am studying Human, Molecular and Cell Biology, with interest in public health, science policy, and advocacy. My long term goal is to attend Medical School.

Jiaming Hu, Ph.D.

she/her/hers | jee-AH-ming who | I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Biomedical Science at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, specializing in AI-driven computational drug discovery and precision oncology. As the Career Exploration Coordinator: Resource Development for SCOPE Policy, I develop and promote resources that empower scientists to navigate careers across academia, industry, and policy. I am passionate about connecting scientific innovation, leadership, and policy to foster more inclusive and translational career ecosystems in biomedical research.

Hiren Dandia, Ph.D

he/him/his | he-rain | https://dandiahiren.wixsite.com/hiren-dandia | I am a postdoctoral scientist at Vanderbilt University developing immune-integrated organ-on-chip models to study complex human diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis. My work focuses on building microphysiological systems that combine multiple human cell types to model immune–vascular interactions. Beyond research, I am passionate about mentoring, advocacy, and community engagement to strengthen the postdoctoral and scientific community.

Kate Beasley

she/her/hers | I am a designer and Masters student pursuing my degree in Natural Resources at Virginia Tech. I received my Bachelors in Industrial Design from Auburn University, where I also had the opportunity to study design collaboratively in Ireland, England, Scotland, and Italy. After graduation, I worked as a cross-genre book designer for Page Street Publishing. Currently, I run my own design studio where I partner with local businesses and mutual aid organizations to fundraise for environmental and social causes. My practice and policy interests are in disaster and risk management, climate adaptation, and science communication.

Jaeseung Hahn, Ph.D.

jay-sung (ʤeɪ-səŋ) hahn (hɑ:n) | I am an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University, working on synergizing nanomedicine and bacterial cancer therapy. I received my PhD in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where I identified and addressed challenges for biomedical applications of DNA nanotechnology. Outside of my research work, I served as Postdoc Representative of the Committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia. I am passionate about building inclusive community, and I strongly believe that policy and education are important components in this endeavor.

Samia Tasmim

saa-mi-ah | I am a research and science communication professional with a keen interest in the intersection of science, research, and policy. I am currently a Co-Vice Chair of Communications for the life sciences nonprofit Women In Bio-Chicago, leading internal and external liaisons and content strategy. I have trained with the National Science Policy Network (NSPN) to build my policy writing and communication skills, and I am excited to bring my dedication to community-building and science x policy to the SCOPE Leadership Board.

Jabria Roscoe

• I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, I have an undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Miami and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Science Writing at Johns Hopkins University. Professionally, I have built a strong foundation in program coordination through my work at BASIS DC, where I streamlined operations, organized student initiatives, and created resources to improve communication and efficiency. Now, I am excited to bring my creativity and organizational skills to SCOPE, assisting with programming and promotional materials as a Career Exploration Events Coordinator.

Fanan Feno

I am a current undergraduate student majoring in biology with specific interests in neurology and human biology. Additionally, I’m a medical scribe in a local emergency department where I observe pockets in our community that require assistance. I have performed as a student research intern within the Empowerment Neuroscience Lab within Stanford School of Medicine and in a collaborative effort between Stanford Biodesign and Fogarty Innovation to bring improvement to the efficiency of medical devices for women and people of color through research. My special interests include public policy that directly impacts the economically disadvantaged, medicine, neuroscience, and pharmaceutical research.

Abigail Denham

she/her/hers | I am a first-year biology major at Howard University with a focus on neuroscience and psychology. I graduated from Madison Preparatory Academy, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA and actively participated in leadership, service, and healthcare programs. I am passionate about exploring the connection between the brain and behavior and plan to pursue a career in neuropsychology. My academic dedication, leadership experience, and commitment to service guide my goals of making a meaningful impact in the medical and scientific fields.

Zehra Aydin

I am a retired UN senior advisor with 25 years of service to the Organization all focused on intergovernmental negotiations of sustainable development policy. I have a BA in psychology, an MA in international relations, and ABD in political science. After retiring I taught an introduction to sustainability course for master’s level business students so that their decisions are embedded in the sustainability framework. I am currently developing a course for teaching engineering students the sustainability framework so their decisions take into account impacts of their innovations not only on the economy but also, and equally, on society and on the environment. This idea emerged from my continuing research on the impact of digitalization on sustainability, particularly climate change. I write on the sustainability, technology and climate change nexus for my web site http://www.curatorofcontent.com. I am also a classical guitarist, a member of then NYC Classical Guitar Orchestra.

Jessica Chambers

she/her/ella | (JESS-ih-kuh CHEYM-berz) | I am a PhD-trained Aerospace Engineer and science advocate focused on advancing equity and accountability in STEM. I have led initiatives to mentor underrepresented students and strengthen diversity and inclusion across research environments. My advocacy centers on addressing systemic inequities that affect the health and diversity of the scientific workforce and promoting ethical regulation of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
